My first app idea

@Sept 2019 - Dec 2019

For the past three years, my twin sister started her own photography business. Last year, I noticed she was constantly on her social media following other photographers to find out what type of content was trending. I thought there had to be a way to automate this marketing process!

Fortunately, I had the opportunity to recruit student developers through the Ignite program hosted by the Association of Computer Machinery at UTD. The app facilitates organic marketing through content suggestions, profile lists, and hashtag sets. The app learns about your industry and points you to the most lucrative content to create, leaders to follow, and hashtags to use.

My Project Progress

Throughout this app project, which my team and I named Empire, I integrated Twitter API into the Python program to generate industry leads and blog-post suggestions from job titles and tweet data. So far, the app integrates Twitter, but we hope to integrate more social media APIs before we deploy it.

Later last January, I pitched my app idea at the annual CometX Pitch Competition hosted by my university. I was happy to with 3rd place out of 12 pitches and ultimately advance to semifinals in the Big Idea Pitch Competition at UTD!

App Pitch

Throughout my time as a student, I build relationships with mentors and peer supporters that helped me build the base for this project.
